Sisal Rugs |
Sisal cactus plant growing in Brazil and Africa gives sisal fibers, which belong to natural fibers with their superior features. Utilizing no foreign chemicals sisal rugs are very important in the context of increasingly toxic environment. Tough fibers of sisal rugs make them durable and resistant to tears and wears.
Antistatic properties of sisal rugs unlike synthetic rugs produce no irritating “zap’. But do not use sisal rugs outside as you shorten them life. Unlike other natural fibers sisal can be used with wool. Combining sisal with wool results in a soft but yet hard wearing sisal rugs.
In terms of cleaning, sisal rugs are not very demanding though they are to be cleaned by special protective spray which protects a rug from soaking as it is afraid of water. Watermarks are common after cleaning just with water. Sisal rugs may be applied on hardwood or tile floors as well as on wall to wall carpets where they can conceal wears.
